Ubi thermae, ibi salus

VIGNONI BAG.
The thermal activity in Bagno Vignoni has become famous throughout Europe since the Middle Ages, but the first evidence of thermal use dates back to Roman times.
The sulphurous waters that flow from the volcanic soil of this location have attracted particularly famous historical figures, including Catherine of Siena and Pope Pius II Piccolomini. Lorenzo the Magnificent also spent some time there towards the end of the 14th century.

Historically, the institutions and various local authorities that have followed one another over time have always paid great attention to the management and conservation of these spas. Even the Constitution of Siena presents several articles containing rules for the management of thermal baths.
Bagno Vignoni today, immersed in the Natural and Cultural Artistic Park of the Val d'Orcia, is a spa resort known and appreciated throughout the world.
